Joshua Dixon Elementary Reminder: Teacher Classroom Virtual Open House begins today at 4:00 pm. Please go to the teachers' web pages to view. Please call the school 330-482-5355 to make an appointment for your child to take the Early Learning Assessment. This is a state required assessment whether students are remote or in-person learning. Informational packets containing required school forms for BOTH-REMOTE PLATFORM and FULL RETURN students will be available in the Dixon Lobby from Monday, August 17-Wednesday, August 19 from 8-3 each day. Packets will be in alphabetical order by family name. In order for you to locate the correct student packet, class lists will be posted on Monday, August 17, 2020 as well. Packets will contain classroom and teacher information, inclusive of student passwords for in-person and remote learning platforms, as well as, car signage for pick-up, and important links and website material. Further, due to a VIRTUAL OPEN HOUSE, please feel free to drop off LABELED school supplies when you pick up instructional packets. Again, these packets are for BOTH REMOTE and IN-PERSON students. Dear Families, Thank you to everyone who has called with questions and concerns regarding the 2020-21 school year. I have tried to incorporate and clarify as much of the unknown as possible. That said, please understand that this document is definitely a work in progress and as requirements and mandates are placed upon the public school system, I will make adjustments. All of us here have worked diligently and with integrity to make our building ready for a safe return. This will be my twenty-eighth year at Joshua Dixon and those that know me understand that your children, are my children, and to ensure social, emotional, physical, and academic needs are met, I will continue to take one day at a time and put forth a good faith effort everyday. Keep in mind, this 'new-normal' may be temporary and through it all we have been able to find blessings within ourselves, our children and families, and within our community. Kindergarten Registration-Help spread the word! Any parents wishing to register a Kdg. student needs to visit our web-page and fill in a Google Form. This will enable us to collect needed information to begin the pre-registration process while school remains closed. Thank you.

Joshua Dixon: Students will have an opportunity tomorrow morning (Fri. 1/10) to purchase presale basketball game tickets for $1. The Clippers are undefeated and would like to "pack the gym". If interested in student tickets, send $1 per ticket to school tomorrow with your child.

Tomorrow starts the Columbiana Dribble Program for Boys & Girls, Grade K-3 This program is designed to introduce kids to the fundamental dribbling skills in a structured yet fun environment. Registration fee is $25 and includes: • T-shirt • Basketball • Free Admission to the Friday, January 10th Home JV & Varsity Boys Basketball game where program participants will perform their dribbling routine at half-time of the varsity game.
