Joshua Dixon’s second graders celebrated the 50th day of school with a fun and educational trip back to the 1950s! Students learned about popular inventions from the decade and placed them on a timeline to see how technology and daily life have changed over time. They also explored the cost of everyday items in the 1950s, comparing prices from then to now, sparking great discussions about change and progress. To top off the celebration, students dressed the part in poodle skirts, leather jackets, and retro accessories, bringing the decade to life. The day wrapped up with a classic 1950s treat of root beer floats! It was a memorable way to blend learning with fun while celebrating the 50th day of school in true ’50s fashion.
