CMS: The football team improved to 2-0 on the season this past Thursday. Jensen Nordquist scored a touchdown and Hayes McCoy scored three of his own all behind excellent blocking by Jayce Dickey, Hayden Short, Anthony Baker, William Croake, JJ Tollas and Devin Brode. Rocco Mediate and Senator Johnson both had big games on defense. Keep it up Clippers.
CMS: 7th Grade immunization third reminder notice.
The State of Ohio requires Tdap and Meningococcal vaccinations to attend school. Please have one of the following sent to the school by 9/6/2022:
1. Documentation showing completion of these vaccinations. OR
2. Calling into the school with date and time of scheduled date for these vaccinations OR
3. Certificate of Exemption.
If these items are not received by 9/6/22, your child may be exempt from curricular, cocurricular, and extracurricular activities.
Vaccinations may be received at your local health care provider, the Health Department in Lisbon (330-424-0272) or local pharmacies such as Rite-Aid (330-482-3854), Family Drug (330-482-3816), etc.

CMS Football:
The football team defeated McDonald last night 20-6. Lucas Buccheit, Hayes McCoy, and Charlie Baglama all scored touchdowns for the Clipper offense. The defense played a great game. Devin Brode and Will Croake were both standouts on the defensive side of the ball. The entire team played with great intensity. Congratulations Clippers on a well deserved victory.
CMS:
We have an opportunity to receive free tickets to the September 10th YSU Tailgate Day/YSU Football game. Tailgate activities start at 11:00 am. Students will receive a sign-up sheet this afternoon. Please make sure papers are returned to homeroom teachers by the deadline in order for us to order tickets for you.

Orientation/open house event reminders are listed below. All events start promptly in the CMS cafeteria (parking available in the rear of the CMS/CHS campus).
Monday 8/22: 5th Grade Orientation at 4:00 pm, 6th Grade Orientation at 5:30 pm.
Tuesday 8/23: 7th Grade Open House at 4:00 pm, 8th Grade Open House at 5:30 pm.
First day of school for students is Wednesday, 8/24. Doors for cafeteria drop off will be open from 7:20-7:40. Those arriving late (after 7:40) would come through the CMS front doors and sign in.

BE A PART OF THE BAND
All incoming 5th Grade students have a unique opportunity to join the 5th Grade Beginning Band. On August 29, 2022 and August 30, 2022, students interested in join the band will have the opportunity to explore the beginning band instruments during the school day. Those interested in participating in the 5th Grade Band are then invited to a student/parent/caregiver meeting on August 30, 2022 at 6:30 PM in the Band Room. Mr. Miller will be available with information during 5th Grade Orientation. Please feel free to stop and ask questions.
Remember, no matter what the circumstance, everyone can be part of the band.

Parents, in the event that your child is required to take medication while at school (over the counter or prescription) we have attached the link to the permission form that is needed. This form is also available in the office. This form will need to be filled out and signed by the doctor for over the counter or prescription medicine.

CMS Cafeteria Information:
During the last school year, children and families benefitted from no-cost school meals for all students, made possible by special permission from the United States Department of Agriculture. Unfortunately, this program has expired. As a result, the Ohio Department of Education and Columbiana Exempted Village School District cannot extend the permissions for no-cost meals for all students.
School meals will still be available to all students; however, they will not be free to all students. Households may apply for free or reduced-price meal benefits by September 28, 2022. Applications will be sent home and/or are available on our website as was the case before the pandemic. Eligibility for free and reduced-price lunch is based on federal income guidelines or participation in other programs such as Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and Ohio Works First. For additional information concerning the National School Lunch Program, please see the U.S. Department of Agriculture school lunch question and answer webpage.
For the 2022-23 school year, the price of reduced and paid lunches will be as follows:
CMS Breakfast $1.00 ($0.30 Reduced)
CMS Lunch $2.95 ($0.40 Reduced)
