Catherine Bosley talking to CHS students.

Columbiana High School students heard a powerful message from Catherine Bosley, a journalist, author and motivational speaker. Bosley shared her personal experience of how pictures and video of her went viral in the early 2000’s, and the cyber bullying she lived through as a result.

“There’s so little room for that “what was I thinking moment,” before it could become attached to you forever and for all to see, and that’s something you always have to be mindful of in this day of digital everything.”

Bosley shared with students how she overcame a cyber catastrophe. She told students how they can rise above it. “I am living proof that it’s survivable,” said Bosley.

Bosley also talked with students about digital dangers, specifically posting pictures on social media and how privacy settings do not prevent pictures and posts from being shared. She urged them to be cautious and aware of what they post, any pictures or video they take, or someone takes of them.

Bosley has shared her story and message about digital dangers with a number of local school districts.
