Clipper Achievement

This summer, Mrs. Brown had the opportunity attend Mount Vernon’s Summer Residential Program provided by the Gilder-Lehrman Institute of American History through a highly competitive federal grant/scholarship.  There were only 19 teachers from across the country in her cohort.

One component of the grant was the requirement to give needed professional development to an audience of educators outside of her daily network.  Mrs. Brown wrote a proposal to the Ohio Council for Social Studies (OCSS) and it was accepted for the 2019 conference in October.  Dwight Groce, the head consultant for social studies in Ohio, will be in attendance of her presentation: "Utilizing Inquiry for Understanding Early America to Develop Leaders Today."
