The mission that inspired Girls Who Code was to close the gender gap of women and men in technology. “Now there are more than 90,000 girls of all backgrounds in all 50 states. We scale our programs to reach more girls in more places, and give them the chance to forge lifelong bonds so they may persist in computer science.” Our mission at Columbiana Girls Who Code is to share what information we have about water pollution and light pollution. We hope that we can inspire our readers to go out into the world and help prevent the pollution from spreading further. Should the pollution become worse, our planet will never be the same nor be as enjoyable to live in. Join us in our mission to prevent pollution in our oceans, homes, and cities. We believe that awareness is important and is one of our core values.
All of us who are apart of girls who code are creating an informational website presenting these facts about light and water pollution. It presents this information in a way that's easy to read and comprehend. The website also has interactive games about light and water pollution, which we created on Scratch. Currently we are adding an additional magazine (created in Trinket) about these subjects. Light and water pollution are very serious problems that affect everyone and we hope our readers will recognize this.
